Ever since I tasted Home Base Spirit’s Bitter No. 2, I knew I wanted to try infusing nibs in it and making it into a chocolate. Their Bitter is like an amaro; it’s a grape brandy infused with figs, apricots, and cherries, bittered with galangal root and sweetened with local wildflower honey.

I chose to infuse nibs from Kokoa Kamili to pick up on the dried fruit notes and Huila Colombia to pick up on the brandy notes and the result is extraordinarily fun! You really can taste the spirit with strong black cherry, raisin, and fig notes. This is the perfect bar to pair with another spirit and savor.

Ingredients: cacao beans from Kokoa Kamili in Tanzania* and Huila Colombia infused in Home Base Spirits’ Bitter No. 2 Expression, cane sugar*, cocoa butter*
